Quinoa

A spring planted annual which is native to South America. It can easily be mistaken for “fat hen”.

 Sandoval Quinoa

This small seeded variety was introduced by JK King & HJ Fairs in the 1970’s.  It is still grown by ourselves and the Sandoval selection is widely marketed by Kings (Frontier) for use in game cover and conservation mixes.

The Sandoval Variety is bitter tasting and therefore not suitable for Human consumption.

New Selections

In recent years we have developed our own selections of delicious, non-bitter, white Quinoa which need little or no washing before eating.

Currently we are growing these "in-house" on our own farms. If there is sufficient market demand we hope to be able to offer contracts to other growers in the near future.
